This is not a review of the Rocket Boys 1 and 2. While I have watched both the seasons, found the Season 1 more gripping, while Season 2 was loose. But Jim Sarabh is on fire in both the Seasons.

The focus of the era Rocket Boys is set in, has been to instil a scientific mindset, challenge the normal and overcome labour unions. India had just achieved freedom and was gaining feet and trying to find an identity in the global scheme of things. The leadership supported the will to bring in technology.

The fruits we are reaping today is the result of the long term investment of the past. However, it’s sad to see the state of affairs today. The prime leader says that he will find new “vikalp” opportunities for people to sell gobar. This must be a masterstroke after Chai and Pakoda and producing gas from nullahs. The damage has been done. If someone is reaping the fruits of the last 75 years today, you’ll see the results after 10 – 15 years, when the generation grows up on the gobar mindset and leads India.

I pray that I am proven wrong.
